Why it exists
“Where are your group masters?”
I needed this script a few weeks before I wrote it, out at a festival. The headliner LD was troubleshooting output from the console. Universes were enabled, parameters granted, highlight was working, but no cues or any playback were actually outputting. We checked the simple things, and then I asked where his group masters were. He shrugged.
In MA2 you could hold the Group button and a little GUI popped up showing all your masters. That's not a thing in MA3. So I whipped up this script: it looks through every executor you've created on every page and lists everywhere you have a group master.
What it reports
The list
- Every group master in the file: it walks all pages and all executors, not just the page you're looking at.
- Where each one lives, so you can go straight to it.
- Which group it controls, by name as well as by number.
- Duplicates: the same group sitting on more than one master, which is usually the thing biting you.
A neat little tool for messy or long-running showfiles, and for the day you inherit somebody else's file and need to know what's holding what down.
Safety
It only looks
This plugin writes nothing. It reads properties, prints them to the System Monitor, and stops. Safe to run mid-show, on a live file, in front of a producer.

It lives on my Patreon, along with the rest of them. You can also get an email when updates drop.
